Backup Repository
A folder on the hard drive of your computer into which all backups are written. Each backup is in a subfolder of the backup repository. Therefore, several versions of backups can be kept in the backup repository.
Configuration File
An XML file that describes the backup sessions and operations that should be performed by Paranoid Backup.
Backup Session
A run of Paranoid Backup, which consists of several individual backup operations and therefore can backup a multitude of different data sources.
Backup Operation
A single backup process as a part of a backup session. Each backup operation backs up a single data source. A backup operation utilizes several Backup Modules to read, compress, encrypt, and store the data.
Backup Module
A module within the Paranoid Backup framework that performs a certain functionality in a backup operation. The major types of Backup Modules are described in the description of the stream architecture.
